Online purchases of fresh fruits and vegetables increased to 3.5% versus the 2.6% recorded in the 2019 period.
Our citrus fruits – kiwi, persimmon and blueberries – are present in the American market, being highly demanded products. Although fruit and vegetable snacks are less relevant than in other parts of the world, fresh ones have grown rapidly in this part of the world.
The trend has been to consume less meat and more fruits and vegetables since the beginning of the pandemic. Along with this, consumers prefer local and more sustainable products. In the United States, only 4% of consumers say they have bought fresh products online in the last 6 months, however, 60% of them buy fruits.
