Orange

The orange is a citrus fruit obtained from the sweet orange tree (Citrus × sinensis), the bitter orange tree (Citrus × aurantium) and orange trees of other varieties or hybrids. Its origin comes from Asia, they were introduced to the Iberian Peninsula by the Arabs in the 10th century, it was a bitter variety, in the 15th century new varieties came from the Portuguese with a much sweeter and tastier flavor.
The Spanish in 1565, brought this fruit to America, specifically planted orange trees in the city of San Agustín, Florida and California.
It is a fleshy hesperidium with a more or less thick and hardened skin, and its pulp is typically made up of eleven segments or skins filled with juice, which contains a lot of vitamin C, flavonoids and essential oils.

It is a fruit rich in abundant juice with a sweet flavor with an acid tinge. Its nutritional composition stands out for its low energy value thanks to its high water content and its richness in Vitamin C.
